Happy Halloween!!
We had our Fall Festival/ Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday, and it was so
much fun!! So many people were there and there were so many cute
costumes, and of course, the chili cook-off was good as well. Sister
Kinser just about died and went to heaven when she saw all the
crockpots lined up. She tried every single one :) While we weren't
allowed to dress up because we had to stay in proselyting clothes and
maintain the dignity of our calling, we found a loophole. We dressed
up as each other! We picked out outfits and swapped clothes, tried to
make my hair as curly/wavy as possible (which didn't really work),
tried to make hers look straight by tightly braiding it (which did
work), switched badges, and replicated the others make-up style. Only
two people noticed, but we were giggling all day 😄 Then came the best
part, we went home at 5, put on real pants and snacked and did weekly
planning for the rest of the evening.
Oh! So we were snacking on fresh pecans. We were out tracting the
other day and saw a man hunched over on the grass with a plastic bag.
We went over to talk to him to see what he was doing. He was gathering
pecans! It turns out there are several pecan trees in the area and he
goes by every year and collects some of them. Apparently it was a
passion of his because for the next 20 minutes he talked and told us
everything he knew about pecans. Turns out he also lived next door to
the RS president and the high councilor over missionary work and knew
all about us and had come to church a few times by their invitation.
Way to go! We spent the whole rest of the time in that complex keeping
an eye to the ground and collected a fair stash of pecans after that.
Yum!
Miracles! We tracked into this super cool investigator this week, who
came right out to talk to us, accepted a Book of Mormon and Plan of
Salvation pamphlet, set up a return appointment and completely agreed
with the Spirit World. She brought up after death, and when we
explained the Spirit World, she said, "Right? I've always believed
that, but no one else seemed to." Sweet! I hope her husband is as open
as she is. Also, we went back to visit with our recent converts, and
it turns out that Danielle has been singing "Follow the Prophet"
almost constantly this week! Primary teaching done right. Super cute!
It's great to see them really just jump right into the ward.
Oh, on a random note, I had a dream where were were getting driven to
an appointment and our team up spoke Japanese, but the dream had
subtitles. It was cool. And weird.
Love ya'll!

Me trying to get puffy hair by sleeping in 20 braids.
Coolest costume ever! Dwarf done right. Or Viking. Who knows? Same thing.
